Environments: a journal of interdisciplinary studies

Welcome to the new Environments website.

You now have easy access to a range of peer reviewed articles that address challenges bearing upon our interconnected social, natural and built environments – and ways of understanding, planning, managing and adapting to them. These articles:

  • draw from multiple disciplines such as geography, planning, environmental studies, political science and education;
  • integrate diverse fields of interest such as policy assessment, participatory approaches, indigenous knowledge and watershed management;
  • connect many relevant topics such as decision-making, climate change, marine areas, ecological citizenship and food systems;
  • are authored by scholars, professionals and citizens who apply a range of viewpoints, types of analysis and modes of interpretation.

At present, several recent issues and a few theme issues from the past decade are openly accessible. Additional back issues will be posted over time.

We strongly encourage you to register with the journal in order to receive email notification of new issues. Your registration also helps Environments demonstrate a level of support and interest that is important for funding requests. Our privacy statement assures you that contact information will be used only for the stated purposes of the journal.
